Imagine living in a world where everything could last forever. Everything was certain and fixed. We’d wake up every morning with the knowledge that the world was as we left it yesterday. We’d be sure that our happiness lasted, that we would always be around to enjoy all we had. How wonderful would that be...or would it?
Now imagine in that world we were given pain and misfortune instead of happiness. We would wake up every day with the horrible knowledge that we had another day of misery ahead of us and we had forever to suffer in that pain. Even if our share was only happiness, the same old routine everyday would be monotonous and boring. There would be no hope of any improvement or change. Now that isn’t very pleasant, is it?
The best thing about life, I feel, is its uncertainties. We wake up every day not knowing what exactly to expect. Happiness may not last forever, but nor does pain. Everything is transient and that makes us savour our good times and tolerate our bad times. Because we know that the next moment it may all be gone. We go to bed every night with a new hope, a new life and a new tomorrow. Our dreams, though distant, may come true in this world, because nothing is for sure. There is always room for improvement and change, change for the better as well for the worse! Now this life I like.

Very impressive and touching.
ReplyDeleteMarzieh you have a nice hold on "words" and you explained it very beautifully.
i think Allah blessed us with a gift "hope".Its always there with us in the "uncertainties of life"--- the only hope of survival, isn't it?
Its only hope which encourages us to move forward even in very difficult life conditions,in misery,in terrorism,in hunger,in poverty..
its "hope" which shows us new mornings from far,and in effort to reach those, we convert our bad days of life into "good ones".. that is truly what life is..
if life would be same with pre-defined pattern,it would be pretty boring and we would be lazy-beings,i think we would have no interest in changing our conditions or we would have no interest from moving lower status to high status..
This is the line I resonate with and love here, Marzieh:
ReplyDelete"Everything is transient and that makes us savour our good times and tolerate our bad times"
Also, I liked ReeBz additional comments which she came to as usual by obviously deep and personal and very fresh reflections.
I want to add a little more which is a fairly new perspective and current goal for me - that despite the current hurricanes of challenges for the peoples of the earth:
I can seek to be in grateful love with and for 1) the whole of my own existence,2) connection with the whole of us all- and at the same time 3) with Allah as overall. (perhaps three layers of the cosmos?)
Layer # 4) Then there is being in love with and for our mutual existence in relationships among the generations past, present and future. By grace and gift, we are often given these relationships in various mystical and tangible ways as opportunities to till, seed, water, prune and nurture (together and apparently alone) the garden of the past, present and the future along with our Creator.
Marzieh - I finally put the Iran post at the top of my blogsite:

Reebz and Connie,
ReplyDeleteI just love both your comments. You have touched upon essential and yet beautiful points. It was great reading them and I must thank you for the beautiful contribution you have made in regard to my post.
Connie, I would like it very much if you could elaborate on the layers you mentioned and we could perhaps put them to discussion as well.
Once again, Thank you both for your delightful comments :)
Marzieh,
ReplyDeleteI have so little quiet time now to work carefully online for a short time. So I suggest you be the one to elaborate on these "layers".
You will be able to take one or several of these to some equally or better places. And I will try to take an occasional "peek" at RR to see what happens. Yet - of course - don't be locked in if another topic comes up for you.
You seem to know by study and/or experience a similar poetic "language" and grasp of similar inner experiences. What little I know of mysticism - especially the classic and "orthodox" (if there is such a term for the trustworthy esoteric?) combined with a lifetime of reflection and prayer - leads me to seeing these "layers". And perhaps others at RR will "chime in". :) And perhaps Iqbal or other masters may be of some help?
